Quality Begins with the Coconuts

Coconut trees grow everywhere in the Philippines. This beautiful coconut tree is growing right outside the CocoTherapy office.

Many coconut products on the market are made from raw materials sourced from multiple, uncertified suppliers. At CocoTherapy, we oversee every step of the process — beginning at the coconut farm.  

We grow and harvest our own coconuts on a USDA-certified organic farm. This means:
 

  • We control the quality of the coconuts from year to year. 

  • Harvest timing is consistent, ensuring maturity at about 12 months. 

  • Fresh coconut meat is processed within hours of harvest. 

  • Only non-hybrid, non-GMO coconut varieties are used. 


This consistency helps ensure that our oil and coconut chips reflect what we consider well-selected raw material.

Careful Production, Consistent Results 

The way virgin coconut oil and chips are processed affects their composition and stability.

 At CocoTherapy:
 

  • Coconut oil is cold-pressed and dried at low temperatures using gentle mechanical methods only. (Never expeller pressing!)

  • No chemical solvents, bleaching agents, or high-heat refining processes are used. 

  • Moisture content in our oil is intentionally low, which improves shelf stability. 


Unlike oils made from dried copra — which often undergo refining, bleaching, and deodorizing — our process retains the natural characteristics of fresh coconuts without chemical extraction methods.

CocoTherapy Organic Coconut Chips are made from USDA-certified organic coconuts that are:
 

  • Washed and slowly dehydrated at low temperatures 

  • Packaged in a way that helps retain texture and nutrients 

  • Easy to rehydrate and digest compared with many standard dehydrated coconut flakes  


We designed our process to produce coconut chips that absorb moisture readily and break down more quickly, making them easier to include in pet feeding routines.  

How CocoTherapy Coconut Chips are Different from Other Dehydrated Coconut Chips

Dehydrated coconut meat is rich in nutrients and fiber; however it can be difficult to digest for most animals.

We produce our CocoTherapy Coconut Chips, our dehydrated coconut for dogs, cats, and birds, in a special way to be highly digestible and easily assimilated in the body, while providing all the beneficial nutrients from medium-chain fatty acids (MCFA).

Unlike other dehydrated coconut chips or flakes available in your grocery aisles or even health food stores, CocoTherapy Organic Coconut Chips break down easily and quickly with just water.

The digestive system of some animals can not tolerate the typical raw dehydrated coconut chips found in grocery stores. Feeding your pets typical dehydrated coconut may stress their digestive system and often times the undigested coconut are passed either in the animal's stool or vomit. However, our CocoTherapy Coconut Chips were uniquely developed to be easily digestible for animals.
